Skateboarding is enjoyed by many an enthusiast but some participants don't have access to some of the skateboard parks that are found in larger cities. Skateboarders without access to the amenities that these parks offer can build their own wooden skateboard ramps by downloading skateboard ramp plans from the Internet. These plans are easy to understand and the skateboard ramps can be easy to build. Basically, you'll need a hammer, power saw, tape measure, nails, and an assortment of lumber, depending on the skateboard ramp plans you choose.
Once you have cut them out, skateboard ramps are easy to assemble. You'll have to nail the frame together, or use screws for greater stability. You can use glue to make the joints permanent, and once the frame has been constructed, you just cover it with the plywood that the skateboard ramp plans specify for the skateboard ramp. Building your own is a good alternative to buying them, and once you get practice making a few ramps, you can add variations to your ramps or change the slope for more challenging skateboarding. |
